In de onderste positie van het hoekfreesgereedschap, wanneer het druklager in contact is met de onderkant van het werkstuk, komt de bovenste radiale aanslag tegen de voorkant van het werkstuk. Hierdoor kun je nauwkeurig en gevoelig bepalen hoe ver het gereedschap moet frezen.
