The heavy-duty pneumatic edge router

There is no lighter edge router than a pneumatic edge router. When working for long periods or with a delicate touch, your hands and arms start to ache. For light work, a pneumatic drive is then unbeatable, as the compressed-air motor is considerably lighter than an electric motor with or without a battery. This is why this type of pneumatic edge router is popular with joiners and cabinet makers. It is also often referred to as a biscuit jointer.

That is why Heßler has expanded its range of pneumatic edge routers with the KF 400 III. Because it features a proven pneumatic motor, impresses with its performance and is very easy to handle.

In addition, the KF 400 III can also be fitted with an indexable insert cutter. If the exhaust air should prove bothersome during work, an exhaust air duct is available as an option. This allows the exhaust air to be directed to the side.

If operation is intensive and continuous, a service unit or an upstream lubricator is required. This ensures that sufficient oil is introduced into the motor (approx. 1 drop/minute). For this reason, a small oil bottle with a description of the oil specification is included with the delivery for startup.

Application range laminate trimmer

The compressed air edge routers KF 400 III are lightweight and easy to handle compared to electric edge routers. Therefore, a typical area of application is the chamfering or rounding of plastic edge banding that has already been flush-milled, or on panels. Accordingly, the router can be used very effectively on wood and plastic for up to a 3 mm chamfer or radius.

The Lamello biscuit jointer, which is no longer available today, was widespread. The KF 400 III is very similar to the Lamello Profila biscuit jointer.

Function and operation

The edge router KF 400 III features an ergonomic handle. For this reason, it is easy to guide along the solid base plate using a router bit with a guide bearing. If you would like to experience this for yourself beforehand, we offer commercial users a free and non-binding trial.

Technical requirements

For operation, it is necessary to regularly supply pneumatic tool oil. If the machine is only used sporadically, direct instillation into the compressed air connector is sufficient. For continuous operation, however, a service unit is recommended, set to 1 drop of oil per minute for the pneumatic edge router.

Scope of delivery

The KF 400 III pneumatic edge router is supplied as standard with a fixed R2 milling cutter. To enable a first milling operation to be carried out quickly, the cutter is assembled, pre-set and tested. A small bottle of pneumatic device oil is also supplied.
